Tough decisions are made when I get to the beach early. Too many mornings i'm tossing up between surfing and shooting photos. On this particular morning it was really dark and I could hardly tell if the surf was good or not. It looked kinda messy so I opted to take photos instead. I was quite happy with the mood of the photos and the other photos I took. Other days when the surf is good i'm almost wishing that the sunrise isn't a good one as I hate missing them.
Headed to Currumbin despite the weather not being that nice and although it was cloudy and wet the sun made a bit of an attempt to come out and I got a few nice shots in. Enjoy!
Went for a quick Sunday afternoon drive along Currumbin Creek Road to capture the overhanging trees on the road but got there a bit too late for what I was hoping. It's a beautiful drive along the road towards the rock pools here are a few photos taken along the way.
Heard a magpie going crazy so went to have a look and found this Koala getting harrassed while he was trying to have a nap. The photo was taken while he was on his way down to find a new tree. The Koala is looking for a route to the next tree. 100mm Prime, f/4, 1/1000s, ISO 200.
Was lucky enough to win a trip to Singapore through a photography comp put on by Connecting Southern Gold Coast. Took my best mate Danny and for the 5 days we were there we didn't waste a second. Indoor Sky diving, Skateboarding, Wave pool, Wake park, delicious lunches and dinners, we did it all and shot everything else. We needed a holiday after this holiday!
I was so excited to work with the ONYA and be part of their brand to bring awareness of reusable alternatives to plastic. This company delivers high quality products that make you proud to use, especially when some of the items are made out of recycled plastic bottles. The product I like the most was the reusable lunch wrap, goodbye clingwrap! So proud of this aussie business www.onyalife.com and to learn more about living plastic free look here http://www.plasticfreejuly.org/
Fun little session using the GoPro to capture my new custom Waxbuddy waxcombs. These waxcombs are fantastic, big enough so you don't get sore fingers and super comfortable to use. Strips the wax in no time! Oh did I mention it has a bottle opener? Perfect for an Indo trip (Bintang time) ;) Checkout www.waxbuddy.com if you're keen to order some for your business.
Up early to capture the sunrise and shoot off some pics for LKI clothing. An amazing sunrise mixed in with some early morning acrobatics on the rocks made for a great shoot. Cheers Piri for modelling.

Dropped into the Burleigh Single Fin Festival and caught the action of the Semi-Finals. Some great waves, long barrels, big airs, amazing to see what can be done on single fin boards that are over 20 years old. All photos taken with a F2.8 70-200mm IS Canon lens.

I always look forward to holidays at the family house in the Northern Rivers of NSW. Great spending time with the family like many others do too. Hope you all had a great break. Happy New Year!

A recent trip to the Hindu Island of Nusa Lembongan revealed a very different way of living. The main income for the local families is harvesting seaweed, which is then exported to various countries to make anything from cosmetics to gelatin for ice cream.
Hitting the humidity I went for a motorbike ride down to the village one afternoon and took a few snaps.
P.s. The last two shots are from Uluwatu.

Recently got an exciting delivery from the printers - our very own wedding invites that I designed in colaboration with my fiance. The main invite was letterpressed by a Brisbane company called Creative Emporium. Going with the theme of the wedding night a paper doily was gluded to the back and then folded to fit into the square envelope.
A custom stamp was made up for the back of the envelope that has both mine and my fiances name and for the wishing well we bought some swing tags and stuck on a little poem.

Moving into our new house we decided to get original with our furniture and build our own unique table. Although I've never been much of a handy man I did have some help along the way to complete this.
First I started by collecting some timber from a recycled timber yard at Varsity Lakes, from there I took the old hardwood timber to Matt at Hardwood Heaven at Burleigh and got him to glue to table top together. After it was glued he got his belt sander out and gave the timber a light sand to strip back some of the old paint to the wood and make the edges flush. After this was completed I took it home and put it all together. We bought some ikea chairs and the job was done.
It's a great feeling having something that you've created in your home weather it be a painting, enlarged photo on canvas for the wall or as i've done, a dining table, it's well worth the effort. Get into it.
There has been some beautiful mornings lately, cloud and wind free. I've been watching the Kayaks and boats go past on the morning glass of Tallebudgera Creek and thought i'd try to capture some of the nice reflections. Also got a few ripe Lemons in the tree at the moment, been putting these in the chicken for our Monday night roast.
We all know Australians love their thongs, they can be worn on any occasion from work to weddings. One creative bloke on 25th Ave Palm Beach decided that a thong fence would suit his place on the beach. The layout looks like someone has jumped into a pool of thongs and this is the resulting splash.
Woke up early on Saturday morning, took some photos on the beach, went for a surf and took a trip with my girlfriend out to Springbrook, and this was all before eating lunch.
What a great long weekend and it's still not over. Enjoy it!
Found this guy creeping very slowly past the clothes line and towards the lemon tree yesterday. Went out to get a quick snap thinking he might try to bolt off but the lizard was very friendly and didn't mind too much that I was there, he posed for a couple of photos then kept on going in the same direction, which was towards me.
Apparently there are six type of Blue Toungue Lizards in Australia all non-aggressive and were popular in the 60's as pets. I think they'd be happier out and about in their urban environment such as this one.
